Form your team: The 2008 case will focus on producing business value
through information technology. But the problem your team solves is
not just about IT;
it's about business. Case deliverables include a business plan, marketing
research, financial materials and technology information. Mixed-major teams are
strongly encouraged, as it will take MIS, finance, marketing and management skills
to win. BizIT Challenge open to all UT Austin undergrads. Now open to sophomores!
Team signup open until Feb. 9 at midnight.
BizIT Challenge team prizes:
1st Place: $4,000 ($1000 per team member)
2nd Place: $3,000 ($750 per team member)
3rd Place: $2,000 ($500 per team member)
All participants get nice goodies from participating
sponsors and judges who give time and
resources to strengthen your education.
Learn about the case: Come to the kickoff on Thu, Feb 7, at 5:00 PM in CBA 3.304 (McCombs Special Events Room). Pick up the case and hear a panel of experts discuss the business problem and case.
Deadlines: Business plans and exhibits must be merged as one continuous document, zipped and emailed to BizIT@mccombs.utexas.edu by 12:00 noon on Mon, Feb 18. On Fri, Feb 22, from 5:00 PM-10:00 PM, teams will make Round 1 preliminary presentations to panels of industry and recruiter judges. From Round 1, five finalist teams will be chosen to compete in the finals on Sat, Feb 23, from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
