Scott has more than 20 years of experience in Systems Software Development. As part of IBM’s Software Group, he was one of the pioneering product developers for multimedia on personal computers in the early 1990s, and an advocate and technical leader for Java in the late 1990s. As the Director of Architecture for Industry Solutions Integration, IBM SWG, his current focus is on creating value for IBM’s customers in specific industries through Next Generation Telecom Service Creation and Execution platforms, solutions for Branch Banking Renewal, and integration solutions for the Utilities Industry. Prior to working for IBM, Scott worked in a top secret, compartmentalized environment at the National Security Agency as an employee of Encore Computer Systems. Scott also taught computer science and programming classes at Broward Community College. Scott is an IBM Master Inventor, with sixteen US Patents issued and dozens pending. In addition to achieving IBM Invention Plateaus, he is the co-author of the textbook OS/2 Warp Connect, PowerPC Edition: Operating in the New Frontier. He has received many awards from IBM, including two corporate awards and three Outstanding Technical Achievement awards. On top of his significant technical skills, Scott is also an IBM Certified Project Manager, and is known for his leadership, speaking, and negotiation skills, having negotiated strategic contracts between IBM and SBC Corporation, Intel, Sun, and Apple.
