What do you do in your current job?

Responsible for all aspects of growing and running a global team of Application Developers, DBAs and Applications Administrators that provide IT software solutions for National Instruments. Specifically, the IT Applications Group at NI provides solutions for Sales, Marketing, Service, Finance, HR, Manufacturing, Engineering and National Instruments award winning web site ni.com. Michael is also responsible for developing and running National Instruments IT Governance Process and PMO or Project Management Office.

What do you value from your MIS education?

1) Learning the ability to tie in the business value to techology projects. 2) Learning the principals of Systems Implementation and not focusing on technology has allowed me to adapt to the ever changing tech trends. 3) Developing Leadership Skills in MISA/DPMA

What is your advice for current students?

1) Add businessvalue on everything you do 2)Leverage technology while remaining agnostic to technology. 3) Relationship and Communication Skills 5) Move Fast... Always have a sense of urgency.
