What work brought you to your job today?

Each summer at UT, I interned for a different company in a different city. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time at these great companies, I realized what I loved most was the ability to meet new people, learn a new tool set, and implement different solutions. Of course, the opportunity to see a new city was just icing on the cake! That's what brought me to consulting. After graduation, I started with the Tactica Technology Group, which was then acquired by Hitachi Consulting. I am now a Manager at Hitachi Consulting in the Dallas Office.

What do you do in your current job?

In a nutshell, I manage client relationships, project teams, and people. I make sure that we deliver a successful and valuable solution to our clients and that our consultants are challenged and rewarded.

What do you value from your MIS education?

My MIS education provided me the solid foundation and experience necessary to be a well rounded person, which is highly valuable in any industry or position. The MIS Program developed my technical, people, leadership, communication, writing, and presentation skills, all of which have helped me succeed in my career.

What is your advice for current students?

Explore! The more you learn, the more equipped you are. Explore new technologies (who knows? you might develop your own), explore your interests and meet new people who share those interests, etc...
